About KATHERYN

Katheryn believes in creating an environment which serves as a ‘soft place to land’ for her clients. When children are challenged, their entire family is challenged. By creating a positive environment where children feel accepted, valued, and safe, they are able to make sense of their world by expressing themselves in a way that feels natural to them. Children do not always have words to communicate their struggles and can become overwhelmed by big emotions. As a Registered Play Therapist, Katheryn strives to give voice to these challenges and support caregivers in navigating the sometimes difficult and very important job of parenting. 

While she enjoy working with clients of all ages, she has a particular passion for working with children. With over 20 years experience working with children and families, Katheryn uses a strengths-based approach to help families navigate life's challenges. Also certified in EMDR and trauma-focused CBT, she is able to provide calm in times of uncertainty.

Life can be filled with challenges and can be less overwhelming when having someone alongside us. We encourage you to reach out and not go through your struggle alone. Katheryn offers a safe space free from judgement to share your thoughts and hopes for a brighter future for you and/or your loved ones. Treatment is tailored to your unique needs.

Katheryn also conducts ADHD assessments for school age children between 6-18 years of age. The process for the assessment includes an interview with parents/legal guardians of the child, observation/interview of the child, administration assessment measures with the child (8 and up), electronic administration of assessments to teachers, parents/caregivers, and others involved in the child’s life and a parent review of findings/assessment results/recommendations complete with a letter which parents may submit to the child’s physician or child’s school for additional support and/or intervention.
